When you register for Ring of wellness Services, we collect personal data from you such as: your email address, first and last name, height, weight, date of birth and gender. When you continue using the Ring of wellness services you regularly upload personal data onto your account such as, depending on your use of the services; your calorie intake, weight loss goal/weight gain goal, activity/diet routines, your body measurements and BMI. In an ongoing effort to improve our Services, additional personal data may be collected from you. In such cases, we will notify you when the personal data collection takes place

Participate in the forums – this is completely optional. The online community forum is part of the Ring of wellness service to provide support for members. You do not need to share any personal information to read posts made by other members. However if you wish to participate and post messages, you will be asked to validate that your email address is genuine, and to create a forum profile (this does not require you to use your real name). You can choose to show or hide the personal information you want other Ring of wellness members to see about you within the privacy section in your forum profile.
The Ring of wellness iOS App provides the facility for you to link with Apple HealthKit. It is entirely optional, you have full control over this, and no data is shared without you setting permissions first.
You can choose to write data from your Ring of wellness diary to HealthKit on a daily basis, including total calories, fat and other nutrients consumed by you. You can also read selected activity data from HealthKit and this will automatically appear in your Ring of wellness diary, showing a breakdown of calories burned and which exercises contributed the most.
Activity data you give permission for Ring of wellness to read from HealthKit will be stored in your Ring of wellness account for your personal use but will not be shared with any third parties.
How do we use the personal information we hold about you?
We use your height and weight to calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index) – this is a safety check to ensure our service is suitable for you.
We require your personal profile data (age, sex, height, start weight, goal weight and activity levels) in order to calculate a personal calorie allowance to help you achieve your goal.
Your personal information is used to register an account and access the service. To administer your membership, it is necessary for us to send you emails relating to payments you make and your account status. These are classed as ‘administration’ emails and are essential to your subscription.
As part of your membership to assist you in achieving your goal, we provide a series of essential starter tips by email during your first week of membership. You have the right to opt out of these at any time (see section 6).
When you access the Ring of wellness website, we may use information about your online browsing behaviour collected by Google Analytics to help us improve the service and your experience. Google provides a comprehensive private policy allowing you to control how your data is used.
We may also use information collected when you use the Ring of wellness App to help us improve existing features and develop new ones. In addition this information may be used to provide you with tips and motivational messages to help you achieve your goal. These may be sent by push notifications if you allow us to contact you in this way (permission is managed in your phone settings).
We use your personal information to process and respond to enquiries made by you by email, live chat or telephone.
We may use data that has been aggregated and does not personally identify you for purposes such as reviewing sales patterns, monitoring traffic volumes and understanding food searches and consumption behaviour, in order to manage and improve the service.
Do we share your personal information with anyone else?
We may share your information with Google or Facebook to enable us to reach you through their advertising platforms. This is called ‘remarketing’ and it allows us to show you adverts about Ring of wellness as you browse around the internet or in your Facebook feed because you have visited our website or been a member with us in the past. You can stop personal information being used for this purpose at any time – see section 6.
How you can change your email preferences & data privacy
You have full control over how we contact you and use your personal information and can set your preferences at any time in your account.
To tailor the email communications we send you and / or manage your data privacy, follow the instructions below:
On the website: Sign in and hover over on ‘My Profile’ > select ‘My Account’ > ‘Manage my email & privacy preferences’.
You can also use the links in any emails you receive to manage your preferences or unsubscribe.
Use of children’s personal information
We do not knowingly collect or store any personal information about children under the age of 18. This service sets nutritional targets based on adult requirements, and as such is unsuitable for children.
Your information rights under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
Your right to rectify information – if any of the data we hold about you is incorrect, you can correct this yourself in your account, or you can contact us and we will correct this for you within one calendar month.
Your right to be forgotten – you can request that we delete or remove your personal information from our system. This will be done within one calendar month.
Your right to restrict how we use your data – you can object to us using your personal information to limit the way we use it.
Your right to data portability – you can request that we provide you with a file of your personal information within one calendar month.
Your right to object – you can object to us using your personal information to carry out profiling.
